Spain opening up to Online Gambling

Spain according to reports is soon to launch an online gambling regulatory structure. Things are moving quickly to have everything set up by the 1st of January 2012. Apparently it has been hard work to get the Spanish Cabinet to approve the rules and regulations for the new online gambling sector.

AEDAPI; the Spanish online gambling trade association, is set to be in charge of the administrative part of this project which will lead to the way for online casinos to apply for online gambling licenses. Gambling operators will be charged a 25% taxation on their net income and also, some types of gambling will not be allowed.

Due to the rate of taxation some gambling operators might not be inclined to operate in Spain. AEDAPI is aware that there are still things to be done in order for gambling laws be profitable for the major gambling operators.

Online casinos are also eager to have their licenses up and running by the 01st of January. One of the leading UK betting company, Ladbrokes, intends to get into the Spanish and Danish online gambling markets. And for this to happen, Ladbrokes has made a deal with the top online casino software provider, Microgaming, in order to use their casino and poker products in those two countries. Ladbrokes is ever so ready to launch their Spanish site as soon as they receive their license in January 2012. With such a reputable company as Ladbrokes making a breakthrough in Spain, it goes without saying that other online gambling companies will soon follow.
